Although Patrick and Daniel have both grown up in the easily manageable mountain regions of the Saar and Rhineland, they share a deep bond to the mountains since childhood. Both of them always tried to spend as many winter as well as summer days in the Alps as possible. In winter first on the ski, later on the snowboard. In summer by foot or by mountainbike. Resulting from this love the idea of an accommodation in the mountains for like-minded old and new friends came up … the idea for the basecamp was born!
Basecamp founders Daniel and Patrick share the passion of snowboarding from the very beginning. They were standing on their boards almost everywhere where snow and mountains were found. Together they look back on 60 years of snowboarding experience. As your guides they are happy to show you the great terrain of Tyrol and the Paznaun Valley.
Anja is our „Hüttenwirtin“. She lives at the Basecamp and takes care of the house and our guests. The UX Designer loves travelling, hiking, yoga and enjoying nature. The vegetarian spent the last winter on the portuguese island Madeira and for the summer she is the „woman on site“ in our little mountain hostel.
Daniel was born in the area around Bonn where the beginning of his “shredding career” started on the skateboard. After that came the first (self-made) snowboard, surfboard, wakeboard, kiteboard … After the sports study and due to his passion for board sports he founded Algarve Watersport, a water sports camp in Portugal in 2006. However the longing for the mountains remained so he started, together with Patrick, the Basecamp in 2017.
Patrick is the founder of Go-Ride, a charitable organization that allows nature athletes to collect money for charitable projects. The organizing team takes care of most of our events. Pat basically grew up on the bike or snowboard bindings and is constantly on board or bike expeditions all over the world. As a born-and-bred Saarlander, however, he skips no barbecue either.
